Ubuntu is one of the most widespread Linux versions for personal computers, however the OS also has a server release, which has been gaining in popularity nowadays. Ubuntu is very quick and supports multiple hardware components, so it can function on virtually any computer not consuming an excessive amount of system resources. The OS is widely known as pretty dependable and secure, plus due to its popularity, you'll find various sources online with information about any question or problem that you may have. The Long-Term Support (LTS) versions are supported for at least five years, so you are able to get security patches without having to worry about softwareissues in the long term. As Ubuntu is free to use, you are able to modify both its core as well as the thousands of additional software packages which you can download and set up in any way you find fit, with no restrictions and without having to pay any license fees. In this way, you will obtain a rapid, secure and powerful hosting service and pay just the cost of the server.
Ubuntu in Dedicated Servers
Ubuntu is one of the OS options that you can find on our order page if you decide to get one of our dedicated servers. We'll install the 32-bit or the 64-bit release, so as to satisfy the system requirements of the applications that you want to install on the server. You can also select the software which will operate on your machine, since we will set up only the Apache web server software, so everything else can be custom software of your liking. You will be able to install the latter without problems using a Secure Shell console, since you will receive root-level access and you will get full control over your server. You can install a hosting Control Panel as well and manage some things from a graphical interface, as long as it can function on an Ubuntu-driven machine. To make things easier, we also offer a Managed Services upgrade, which, among other things, includes Operating System updates.
