A subdomain is part of a web address that is under the main domain, for example name.example.com. Technically, even in www.example.com the "www" element is a subdomain because the fully qualified domain name is only "example.com". Each subdomain can have its own website and records and can also be hosted using a different provider if you need to use some feature which isn't provided by your current service provider. One example for using a subdomain is if you have a business website and an online store under a subdomain where customers can buy your products. You can even have a forum in which they can comment on the products and by employing subdomains as an alternative to subfolders you will avoid any chance of all sites going down when you perform maintenance, or update one of the website scripts. Keeping your sites separated is less risky in the case of a script security breach.

Subdomains in Shared Website Hosting

Our shared website hosting plans will allow you to create numerous subdomains for every domain address hosted in your account without any problem. If the main domain is added, it takes 2 mouse clicks to create a subdomain and select what folder it's going to open (if different from the default one), create unique error pages, activate FrontPage Extensions, set a shared IP address or a dedicated one, and a lot more. All subdomains will be conveniently listed in alphabetical order under their main domain for easy access and administration. By right-clicking on any of them and by using instant access buttons you can view the error logs, visitor statistics or site files for that specific subdomain. We have not set a restriction for the amount of subdomains which you can create with any one of our plans, so you can have as many as you want.

Subdomains in Semi-dedicated Servers

Our semi-dedicated servers haven't got a limit for the number of subdomains which you can create. Adding a new subdomain within the account takes just a couple of mouse clicks inside the Hepsia website hosting CP and during the process you can choose the folder the subdomain is going to access if it is going to be different from the default one, set up custom error pages, enable FrontPage Extensions if you need them or create a dedicated IP address instead of the shared server one if you have added such an upgrade to your semi-dedicated account. Once the subdomain is set up, you'll be able to access logs and visitor stats or you can swiftly jump to the site files for it within the File Manager section through fast access buttons. All subdomains that you have in the account will be conveniently listed under their root domain, so you're going to be able to find and control any of them with ease.
